Staffordshire Woman’s Division 5
Dudley 0 vs. 4 Streetly 2nds
Scorers :- Lizzie Farrow (2), Jenny Devereux (1), Beth Peers (1)
Harvey’s Player of The Match :- Emily Peers
Streetly 2nd team travelled to Dudley this week under the captaincy of Jenny Devereux and Sarah Evans. The girls played well together and quickly won a short corner which was converted by Lizzie Farrow with a straight strike from the top of the D. The girls worked well for the remainder of the half and were faced with a one on one situation on goal which Sarah ‘Scouse’ Evans dealt with well on her comeback match after 10 weeks out due to injury. After a half time team talk, the girls came back strong and looked for goals! The next short corner won was struck well by Jenny Devereux, again from the top of the D. The goal of the game came from youngster Bethany Peers after some good passing between Thomas, Seaman, Gawthorpe and Emily Peers. The ball fell to Emily Peers who made an excellent run down the right hand side of the pitch to pull the ball back to her sister who coolly finished with a reverse stick goal. Finally, another short corner strike finished from Farrow to get her second of the game and make the final score 4-0.
Harvey’s player of the match was Emily Peers for her excellent off the ball work, runs down the right hand side and for setting up 3 of the 4 goals for Streetly.
