Lichfield Badgers 2 - 1 Streetly Badgers
Streetly Badgers played some good hockey in their first game of the season against a quality Lichfield side and were unlucky to lose 2-1. All goals coming the in the second half with a very good strike by Elliot Bailey for the single late Streetly response.
Although skilled in going forward with the ball Streetly lacked some 'bite' in midfield and were also denied opportunities by good goalkeeping.
Good performances on the ball from both Shepherd twins, Elliot Bailey, Tom Walsh and Arjan Mangat but only Sam Higgs and Bradley Platts gave their all in getting the ball off the opposition. The young Streetly GK was amazing too!
However, Harveys Man of the Match goes to Argen Mangat on this occasion.
Those who also impressed were both Bradley Platts and Sam Higgs in becoming strong tacklers over the early weeks of the season but distribution from defence was a regular problem due to poor support for those on the ball.

Streetly Badgers 3
- 0 Old Hales
Old Hales turned out at Streetly School with a young but very capable side. Both sides exploited each other during the opening exchanges but it was Streetly who found the first opening. The chance came about after some good work by Tom Walsh who’s neat pass found and unmarked Adam Shepherd, who clinically finished from the far post much in the family trait of his older brother Jake Shepherd. Old Hales then dominated the remainder of the first half but were unable to break though the impressive Thomas Dartnell in the Streetly goal. The second half continued in the way of the first with both sides going close with chances with an evenly balanced game but again it was Streetly who found the net again. This time the provider turned scorer in Tom Walsh after he reacted to a rebound following a shot by Adam Shepherd. The final goal came yet again to Streetly despite chances by Old Hales this time Arjan Mangat latched onto another pass by Harveys Man of the Match Tom Walsh he finished well past a stranded keeper.

Streetly Badgers XI 3 – 2 Kingswinford Badgers XI
In this impressive 3 – 2 win, the Streetly boys concurred the guests with a little help from Joe Aston and Will Murray. Within the first 15 minutes the home side was all over the opposition and a short corner was placed to back post by ‘Harvey’s Man of the Match’ Tom Walsh where the tap in master Adam Shepard knocked it in to open the scoring. With sloppy defending from Kingswinford a long corner was conceded where Tom Walsh slotted it to Dan Shepard to get Streetly 2 – 0 up by half time. Shortly after half time the badgers committed up front were Kingswinford slipped through to get a goal back. Fighting back Streetly clenched back their 2 goal lead with the Shepard twins making another mess of the defence with Dan’s pass getting Adam his second of the game. Streetly fought on but another goal was conceded making it 3 – 2. Despite all of Tom, Arjan and the Shepard’s twins work the game ended 3 – 2 which was a great result.
