Youth Sunday Morning Training

Youth training for ages 5 upwards re-commences on Sunday 7th September 2008.  This will continue to take place at Streetly Sports College (the School) on Sunday mornings between 9:30 and 11:00.  We advise our young players to make sure that they have plenty of layers with them when they come to training/festivals so that they can keep themselves cool or warm depending on the day.  We also recommend that they have with them and wear a gumshield and shinpads, and that they bring a drink.

In case of bad weather on a Sunday morning, please ring David Peers on 07711332505.  Light rain will not stop us training but generally heavy rain, snow, and ice will make the pitch unplayable.

The emphasis on a Sunday morning is for our young players to learn the basics of the game whilst retaining a fun atmosphere.  Competitive hockey is also available in the form of monthly mini-festivals for under 9s, under 11s, and under 13s and regular matches for under 15s against local clubs.

We have confirmed our participation at a mini-festival at Wyndley on 19th October 2008.  We will be taking under-9, under-11, and under-13 teams.  The festival starts at 09:00 so please be at the pitch for 08:30!

We must ensure that we have all personal details of those attending our Sunday morning sessions so please complete a details form if you have not already done so.  Also, to help us with costs we ask for a joining fee of £5 per child and a weekly fee of £1 per child per session is charged.

We will be applying for an awards for all grant to purchase more equipment and kit, and if you know of anyone who would be interested in sponsoring our youth section please let us know.
