Streetly 3rd XI 0 –
Bromsgrove 3rd XI 3
Streetly started this fixture knowing that
a win would see them pressing for promotion places but soon
realised that Bromsgrove, similarly placed in the league, were
also well prepared and anxious for the points. Early
exchanges were even as Streetly adjusted to a revised line up
and Bromsgrove with the benefit of greater experience gained
confidence from greater possession. Streetly conceded a
number of penalty corners but retained a clean sheet to the
break with defenders Adrian Lacey and man of the match George
Acton being particularly effective.
The second half saw more dominance from
Bromsgrove and eventually their greater possession and shape
lead to Streetly conceding after failing to clear adequately.
Streetly never offered quite enough up front to worry Bromsgrove
as the visitors began to dominate. Streetly’s woes were
compounded firstly by Lacey pickin up an injury, and then by a
second goal for Bromsgrove. Bromsgrove added a third late
in the game.
